Monarch Knee Brace

The Patient-Ready Monarch brace is designed to counter act stress placed on the knee joint as a result of osteoarthritis, helping alleviate pain or limited mobility. In addition to relieving existing pain, the Patient-Ready Monarch brace acts to delay osteoarthritis progression by supporting the knee joint and alleviating wear. Based on findings from DonJoy’s original custom Monarch, the new “off-the-shelf” version is not only ready to wear, it’s ready to work.
The Patient-Ready Monarch was designed along the 3-point principle theory of a bow and arrow. When the bow is pulled back into the cocking phase, it generates energy and force in the opposite direction. The Monarch acts as a bow on a leg, counteracting internal pressure to relieve friction within the joint.
The Patient-Ready Monarch brace delivers a custom-like fit through the innovative DonJoy Varus/Valgus hinge, which adjusts to conform the brace to the unique shape of each patient’s leg. An inflatable pneumatic pad strategically placed at the knee joint line allows patients to vary the pain-relieving force as needed, leading to greater compliance.
